How ITEL DIAMAGS technology solved critical MRI magnetic interference challenges in clinical environments worldwide.
Continuous magnetic field fluctuations caused by a tram power line located just 30 metres from the test point exceeded GE's pre-installation limits on the vertical Z-axis. Maximum variations reached 40 mGauss peak-to-peak at low frequency (below 10 Hz), posing a direct threat to image quality and scanner stability.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was deployed to counteract the tram-generated disturbances. High-precision fluxgate sensors detected field variations in real time, while Helmholtz-like compensation coils generated an opposing magnetic field to cancel out the interference dynamically.
Magnetic measurements at Clรญnica del Rosario revealed a severe three-axis interference crisis caused by a nearby metro power line. Variations significantly exceeded GE Profile 0.2T limits: Y-axis at 200.03 mGauss p-p, X-axis at 78.02 mGauss p-p, and Z-axis at 17.30 mGauss p-p โ making installation impossible without intervention.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was configured for multi-axis sensing and compensation to address simultaneous disturbances across all three spatial planes. The system created opposing magnetic fields in real-time to cancel out the metro-induced environmental B-field variations.
The Manhattan installation site for a GE Esaote eScan 0.2T faced a dual electromagnetic threat: a subway power line generating continuous vertical field variations up to 26 mGauss p-p, compounded by a densely trafficked urban environment. GE mandated specific site adjustments before installation could proceed.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was installed to neutralize subway-induced field variations. A magnetic shield was applied to the partition wall between the MR room and the adjacent office area, and shock absorbers were installed to suppress vibrations from HVAC conditioning equipment.
Magnetic field measurements at Lenox Hill Radiology in Brooklyn revealed significant electromagnetic interference caused by the New York City subway system. Field fluctuations reached a maximum of 36 mGauss p-p, exceeding the susceptibility limits of the Hitachi Oasis 1.2T MRI and risking image artifacts, ghosting, and loss of diagnostic clarity.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was deployed to counteract subway-induced disturbances. High-precision fluxgate sensors identified the exact nature of the fluctuations in real-time, while Helmholtz-like compensation coils generated an opposing magnetic field to cancel out the interference at the MRI isocenter.
Measurements at Pelham Bay Professional Center revealed continuous low-frequency magnetic field fluctuations caused by a metro railway located 200 metres from the MRI isocenter. Variations on the Z-axis reached 35 mGauss p-p โ significantly exceeding the Philips Ingenia 1.5T pre-installation limits and threatening image quality and operational stability.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was selected to counteract the metro-generated disturbances. The system utilized high-precision sensors tuned to the specific low-frequency band of the interference, driving Helmholtz-like coils to generate a real-time opposing field and cancel out the B-field variations.
At Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology in Elmhurst, New York, maintaining a stable magnetic environment for the Hitachi Oasis 1.2T MRI proved extremely challenging due to the NYC subway system running nearby. Field fluctuations reached 38 mGauss p-p โ causing severe image artifacts, ghosting, and scan instability that rendered high-precision diagnostic imaging impossible.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was installed to combat the subway interference. The system continuously sensed incoming disturbances and instantly generated an equal and opposing magnetic field, keeping the MRI environment within Hitachi's tight susceptibility tolerances at all times.
At Casa di Cura Madre Fortunata Toniolo in Bologna, a private road running directly above the MRI room โ with passing cars just 4 metres from the isocenter โ generated continuous low-frequency horizontal field fluctuations reaching 25 mGauss p-p on the Z-axis, well beyond Philips 5300 1.5T pre-installation tolerances.
ITEL DIAMAGS Active Compensation System was configured to counteract the car-passing-generated fluctuations. Tuned to the specific low-frequency band of the disturbance, the system's sensors and Helmholtz-like coils created a real-time opposing field to neutralize the interference before it could affect the MRI scanner.
